Obituary of Richard C. Thompson

Richard C. Thompson, aged 79, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Middletown, Connecticut. He was the cherished husband of Kathleen Thompson and the son of Milton and Marie Thompson. Richard was born on December 12, 1945, in New Haven and was an alumnus of Notre Dame High School and Siena College.

A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the US Army's Military Police Brigade, earning an Army Commendation Medal for his contributions as a reporter in the information office at Long Binh. He was actively involved with the Veterans of Vietnam War, Inc. in Middletown. His professional career spanned over 50 years at Pratt & Whitney as a Scientific Analyst. Richard enjoyed puzzles, Sudoku, and stamp collecting in his leisure time.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughters Kelly and Heather, and brother Roger. The family expresses gratitude to the medical staff who cared for Richard. Calling hours are scheduled for September 21, with a funeral service to follow. Military honors will be provided at burial on September 22.
